Terra Nova revolves around the Shannon Family who have been selected to travel 85 million years back in time to a prehistoric Earth to escape their dying planet in 2149.
Here the Shannon family meets members of a small human colony who have a new chance to recreate a more ideal civilization.
The show was originally planned to premiere in May 2011 but an unanticipated amount of time was spent perfecting the visual effects. The 2 hour premiere is now scheduled for September 26, 2011 and will continue the following week on FOX at 8PM on Mondays.
Special note: There is some disagreement regarding whether the Pilot (Genesis) was two episodes or one. For example, Wikipedia lists Genesis as 1 episode. However, the 2 hour pilot had two production codes and for us that means two separate episodes. In addition, the folks behind the show have confirmed that there will only be 13 episodes in the first season and that 11 episodes will follow the September 26th premiere. So here:
